I hired a little row boat yesterday, and headed out onto Lake Windermere to enjoy the sunshine, the peace and quiet of the lake, take in the scenery, and to read my book.
It was absolutely delightful, so delightful in fact that I decided to have a cheeky wee nap, and dozed off for a couple of hours. Whilst I would never dare do this on the ocean, on the Lake I deemed it okay.
When I awoke, I was a tiny bit sunburnt, had been attacked my midges in my sleep, but worse of all, my copy of ‘To the Lighthouse’ was bobbing away on the water into a gaggle of geese. Despite this, what a glorious way to spend a day on the water!
